The term “adventure” is perfectly suited to describe the large banquets that our theatre company has been organizing for many years: we set sail together for an unknown and uncertain destination, we navigate the stormy seas of the kitchen, each of us is forced to push ourselves, find our place as we go, take initiatives, deal with the unexpected.
Along the way, we meet new people whom we must welcome on board, and together we succeed in our quest.
Finally, the moment comes when, victorious, we leave the kitchen and return to reality, changed by what we have been through.

How can a dish, a banquet, or a recipe tell diners about these culinary epics?
How can it recount a life journey, a human adventure, a memory, or a dream?

The Spatule Community focuses on cooking as a means of expression and on the narrative that a meal itself can convey, but also on the way it is served, the form the banquet takes, and the “extras” that could be deployed to create a unique moment that will be remembered and reveal to the public the universal aspect of the act of feeding, the human adventure behind it, which often takes place behind the scenes.
