Mzwandile Buthelezi, The texture of silence

In this very loud period of human history Orchestres sets out to explore the mysteries of silence. What does silence mean to each of us? How is it created and how does it spread? How do we bring it about, share it, and experience it together? What makes silence both a disturbing presence and a refuge? To explore this subject, we are putting together an artistic team comprised of deaf and hearing artists, with the aim of guiding each other through our diverse realities, seeking common ground, exchanging our respective worlds and feelings, experimenting in public space together, and creating a work that transcends us all.
